I am looking to put a price value on a early to mid 70's colt woodsman match target. I know little about handgun values so any help you guys could give me would be appreciated.

I would describe the gun in Good+ - VG condition, the wood is pristine. There is some blue loss around the grips and the muzzle and a few scuffs on the bottom where the mag gets inserted... The gun was carried more than shot and the barrel is bright and shiny.. The previous owner (my dad) put less than 20 rounds through it... It will be sold with genuine leather fleece lined case as seen in pic....

I don't know where you're checking prices but don't even bother looking at U.S. prices as they will not give you an accurate idea of what they are worth in Canada (higher or lower).

Exactly... So hard to say.. I am going to list it but need a cdn value...

It's value will only be determined by what you want and what someone is willing to pay.
To me it's worth $100
To someone in the market for one... Who knows what they'll pay?
Reality is... Its a .22 pistol.
Unless someone "wants" a Colt... there are many similar pistols to choose from.
Given the CGN tendency towards thrift... My guess is someone in the market for Colt Woodsman would be more likely to buy a new Norinco knock-off for $300 than pay $325 for a used Colt

In the end the potential buyers decide the price.
You could put your Colt on the EE at 800.00 Hoping for the rich collector who must have your very pistol.
but you are more apt to get the fella looking for an inexpensive toy to play with until he is called back to work.

I own a couple second gen Woodsman Match Target (which is the heavy barrelled version). I think for a third gen $400-500 would be fair. - dan

That would be my assessment also. Colt collectors tend to be very desirous of "minty", and as a result I've sold a couple similar to yours for $800+ but that's the exception rather than the rule...

Series 3 in described condition should fetch 450-650 $ depending on the way the wind is blowing on any given day...
They are a great shooter and have nothing bad to say about the one my father used to own..learned alot from it !!
:)

Never had a Match Target until fairly recently when I picked up this series 3. Haven't formed any real opinion on it as I haven't used it all that much, yet but hope to give it a good workout on the indoor range this winter.

From what shooting I have done with it, it doesn't seem to be too shabby but so far, I still prefer a S&W model 41.
