Need some info on the Colt Woodsman .22 LR auto, my neighbour has one and wants me to buy off him. I have Googled them and can't seem to find this exact one, this one has target type grips but not the target barrel. I am guessing the grips have been changed? This one is in excellent shape with no rust but bluing does show wear from holster on the barrel. I can't seem to post pictures for some reason but without seeing can anyone tell me the value of it? I can Email pictures to anyone that knows what they are worth. Thanks guys.

Thanks rshew that is a great site. It is a second series but the only thing that is different is they state under the horse it should say Challenger but this one is marked Woodsman. The ser # is ended with a -S and mag release is just behind the trigger gard making it a second series and it looks like production was in mid 50's. Either way if it worth anything or not I am going to buy it just because it is a neat little pistol. I am going to take it to the range and see how it shoots.
They also marketed Woodsman "field" guns back in the day. 4.5" bbls, not the heavy target type. They are nice guns, getting a little tough to get parts for. IMHO the second gen are the best of the lot. - dan
