Combat Masters too busy for new clients???

Oh I have moved on.

Remember that this a public forum and we are allowed to express our opinions. As well I have run a business and know that there are not vast amounts of monies always to be made, however he has a website and advertises items for sale at his price.

How about last summer when I placed an order over a month in advance, not including the time involved in the intial contact as many people have noted takes some considerable time and effort for some reason. I originally requested 20,000 pieces in 9mm, 40S&W, and 45 ACP. No problem was the answer from BDX. "I can produce 90,000 pieces a day" was his quote. Who would have thought that after talking to him a couple of more times to firm up the date I would pick it up and after giving him my credit card info that 3 days prior to picking up the order I would hear over the telephone...."who, I can't remember that order. Oh it is going to take me a while to get that together." I had to stay overnight and wait until the afternoon the next day to pick it up and I only received 15,000 pieces of what I wanted out of the original 20,000 pieces.

I never asked for it to be on my door step the next day. I never asked for more than his daily output in his words. I never beat him down and asked for an unreasonable discount. I never asked for anything out of the ordinary. I asked for 20k pieces of his product with plenty of advanced warning which he agreed upon and to be picked up on a specified date that he agreed upon as well. Seemed like a pretty easy business dealing. I am here to tell you it was anything but easy with BDX.

I have moved on. Believe me I have. If this is the treatment you expect when you drop two to two to three thousands dollars for a product than I guess I have expectations way off the chart then.

You can go off about how hard it is to do this and that but your excuses don't wash. I am sure he is a stand up guy but plain and simple, poor business skills. When in business, you are not in business of making excuses for your customers. You are in the business of supplying a product or service for a price. Live up to your end and your customers will live up to theirs.

Pretty easy to pass judgement on others when you have no idea as to what is involved. I am sure he knows the potential of the market. I am sure if he had unlimited resources at hand he could solve a lot of problems. If anybody thinks there is vast amounts of money to be made in that business they're mistaken unless its on a huge scale. As a reloader we have all seen what is happening to component availability. Havin trouble getting 5K primers? Try finding 1million from 1 supplier when the US is delaying export permits. Seen the notice on the Montana Gold website asking folks to reduce order sizes and not hoard? So you dont get a reply right away or even after an extended period of time. Ya, thats unfortunate and I am sure he doesnt like it any more than you do but why ramble on. there are alternatives if you're not happy. Move on.. I use the product and will continue to do so but I am in the area where it is available thru select retailers. Yes even then its hard to come by when the guy ahead of u takes 5k rounds at a crack but thats just how it goes. I still reload but take the lazy way out when I can...

I want to update our website, but Domain Direct SOLD all it's websites to Hoover, and this requires all new accounts and time muddling around, so I'm looking at a new ISP for hosting then I will update.

Hey Solar, if he's still looking for a new ISP, you can ask him to contact me. I've got ~70 servers spread around various co-lo's and I always keep a few machines running for hosting free-bee sites for friends/charities/pet projects/etc.

And "no", I'm not looking to get any special treatment or deals from him. I'd just be making him the same free service offer I've given to other players associated with my favorite hobby(shooting).

I have posted your comment to him. With his crazy schedule, it may be a while before he has time to look into your offer.

In the Okotoks rifle and pistol club there is a notice saying 450 9mm 147fmj for $75 with Combat Masters card pinned to it. I tried calling to order some with no luck, than email, where he informs me its a 2 case minimum order...WTF?

If you know anywhere else we can get ammo that cheap speak up.

Try ( The Bullet Shop) . There located in Brooks Alberta and specialize in IPSC ammo. I've been using it with out any problems. They also sell compents for you reloaders. They have a couple good loads worked up. Its a new business started by a couple that are active IPSC shooters, so they know what we need and you will meet them at matches. They also have a successful welding company so they know custermer service.

It is always 2 cases min, and it will be4 cases min soon.

Thats fine but why advertise a pack of 450 when they don't even sell in that quantity size?

I think it is old info. Since I have been ordering from him (that was more than a few years ago), it was min. 2 cases. I think after April Calgary gun show, the min. will be 4 cases.
