Combined Al Simmons Russian SKS thread.

I also posted this in red rifles section

I got the call from Al Simmons yesterday and was told they had 60 Russian SKS in stock. :p I went today and bought three. I also got one of the crates they were shipped in for free. They are all refurb with some electro stenciled parts but in excellent condition. All the ones I saw were made by TULA, I picked up 1951 dated and two 1952 dated ones. They have just over forty left.

Price was $229
laminated stock $249
case of ammo $199

Some smudges as I'm in the middle of cleaning it. The brown mark on the bottom is extremely hard to see, I didn't realize it was there until after taking the shot. I have to have light tilted on it just right in order to see it.

Interesting. re the mag block. The welding obliterates the serial number from it's usual place so it gets re-stamped on the side of the mag body. Looks like arsenal/factory work by that.

The "paint" finish looks like that on current Russian arms (typical of Russian small arms finishes for some time, actually).

Anything is possible. Can't see anyone restamping mags here. America can't import these from Russia which limits the market. They're worth nothing sitting in crates over there. Mag blocking is supposed to be done before importation as well.

Definitely Bell. Nice cardboard tags just like the Norincos they've sold before.

Year on ammo box?

Could you post the numbers identifying the year and manufacturing plant the ammo was made at please ?

Thanks you very much

Make that 39 left (or less). Picked up a laminate 1952 from there before they closed. About 20 of the rifles were laminates. They were flying out the door.

I'd say a big YUP! Considering a Norinco was selling for between $150 - $200 lately, and a Russian one for between $300-$400, I would say thats a nice price. I guess my Russian just dropped in value since this container landed.

yours and mine . first drop came when IZH landed and now BELL . we have to average down by buying some more . im serious .:D
