Combined MIG/TIG are they recommended

Lincoln 210 as well, with an aluminum spool gun. Have used the TIG, it work very well. I’m glad I got a multi purpose machine.

I have been welding for years, and was doing a bit of delicate Mig welding at work today as well.

I looked at my needs at home before buying a welder. Delicate stuff can be done with TIG; I don't need to do aluminum, so DC is fine, and heavier stuff is better done with a stick welder anyway. So, I shopped around and did some research, and decided to go with the Century Arc (by Lincoln) 240 volt buzz box with the Tig switch. It is just a scratch tig with a manual valve, but it works just fine for me. I have done a lot of fine repair to gun parts very successfully. All in I have about $500.00 in it as I got a lot of tig components at little or no cost. As a stick welder, it is the smoothest welding unit I have ever used; and I routinely use 1/8" high tensile rod with it. BTW, it seems that they have really gone up in price since I got mine; over 600 bucks at Lowes now.
