What is a decent, yet inexpensive 22/410 combo gun to get? I have a brother in law who was asking me this question over the weekend so I thought I would talk to the experts.
If you are talking about an O/U....you have a whole three choices.
Savage model 24 (Used...all new ones are 20 ga)
Baikal (I have one, had to do a bunch of internal polishing to get it right....but it's decent enough)
or the new ones from Remington (not sure if they're available here yet)
FWIW: I bought a new Savage 24H-DL about 39 years ago, and have used it most every year since for bush partridge and prairie chicken. I've even taken it shooting gophers. It is 22/20ga. 410 is so blinking expensive. Wobble Mart 20ga are $21 per 100. I just bought an old Stevens Model 22-410 with a plastic buttstock. It is missing a rear sight. Now I need a .410 Lee Loader kit and I'm away!!
Nobody mentioned the Springfield M6 Scout?!?!?!? It's a constant companion whenever I leave the city for a day of hiking/dual-sporting/whatever. Pic blatantly stolen form V-Shrake, internet master of the M6 Scout. Here's his page devoted to it.
there is also an o/u .22/.410 called a garcia bronco made in italy for F.I.E. INDUSTRIES.it's a cheap pos but it is what you're looking for.i would have to say give it a pass as it is real cheap.
