I was wondering if any of you Canadian Vz.58 nuts had toyed with this configuration, and if so, how did it fare? Doesn't have to be a Command Arms M4-style butt-stock really; any fixed M4 style on the Vz would be welcome to hear about. Thanks.

Ok, has anyone's step-brothers', uncles, cousins half-sister, who in fact, saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night, even known anyone who once thought about doing this to a Vz?

If the adapotor was available, why would someone choose a fixed M4 style stock over a collasible one? No real reason to under Canadian law. I'd be a bit surprised to find anyone with fixed M4 style stocks here unless they were significantly cheaper than the collapsible ones. It'd be like finding cali-legal AR-15 outside of Cali

Thanks for the replies all. I'm thinking about doing one because I simply prefer a fixed stock to a folder. The collapsible M4 stock seems to be as close as I can get. The original fixed stock is too short for me, and the folder is even more-so. I wanted to go with the Command Arms butt-stock because it seemed like the best one out there. Money is not an issue here; getting my Vz exactly like I want it is. So nobody here has done one?

Ship me a 1 3/16" X 16tpi tap so I can finish mine and Ill email you a picture. Too bad your government wont allow a simple tap to be exported....or AR parts for that matter.

Next time there's an election someone should point out exporting goods does wonders for your economy.:slap::slap::slap::slap::slap:

Hang on, I'm dialing up "W" now; "W" you S.O.B. send ViktorF a Tapco right this second! Ok, it's on it's way. Make check payable to "W", care of "White House" for the amount of 7 Trillion Dollars. See, international trade makes the world go around. ;)

I emailed Brownell's to order one and got a 'we'll look into it' reply 4 weeks ago...I still haven't heard back. It's a weird tap so I called a friend with a machine shop, He said he's been having a heck of a time getting Taps up here, so they've started having them custom made by some place in Toronto, he said the U.S. have even stopped exporting some fasteners. (screws) so now when his company builds cabinets that are getting shipped back to the states, he uses Robinson fasteners exclusively to make a point :) :) :)

Governments all over the world are the same Viktor; silly government, good people (generally speaking). I wish they would send you what you wanted, the laws make absolutely no sense, but there is nothing that I can do about it. I wish I could send my Vz mags up there to be cut down into 20rd. Mags, but I'll be darned if I'm going to pin my mags to have it done. 5rds. safe, 30rds dangerous? Yeah, that makes sense. It's the same all over. You just make do, and try to make friends. It's like this oil crisis; if they refuse to give us the oil we need, then why don't we cut off the wheat shipments? Yeah, Middle East, keep your oil, we'll keep our food, lets see who lasts longer; but pragmatism seems to be out of fashion these days.

Thank you Deckard. I've seen that rifle before, but was hoping to hear from someone who owned, and had fired the rifle in that configuration. I'm primarily concerned with how it changes the cheek rest, and the head alignment with the iron sights. I'm trying to figure out if I do this, then will I need to get an adjustable cheek weld to go with it. Appreciate the photo regardless however.

If you look closely at Deckards picture (like I have) you'll see the whole rear end has been adapted(welded?) up..making the receiver longer. My idea was/is to make a wedge to flatten out the rear of the receiver and attach the buffer tube attachment to it. Problem is the receiver is held on with a very fine thread, actually the same thread used on some automotive brake bleeders, and some honda torque converters-neither of which are long enough...a die set me back $35. But then when you go to attach your tapped buffer tube to the rear of the wedge you'll find it overlaps the back of your stock wedge bolt. I plan on installing the wedge then welding the buffer tube support over top; if it ever has to come off, itll have to be ruined to get the wedge out...or you could just screw an adapter onto the back of the receiver and live with your AR stock that angles down like an AK; which kind of defeats the purpose. Im after the look of the sig 556, but have given up on trying to make a folder like on the 550/swiss arms design.
