I've purchased, but haven't picked up yet, a 22-250 Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker with fluted barrel, which I intend to use on rare occasions for target and varmit. It's a light gun, something the wife can handle. I live in Saskatchewan and the terrain can very, from very open to bush/trees.

Am interested on feedback, or experiences, on the rifle itself, good or bad.

Still sitting on the fence about a scope. Leaning towards a Nikon 2.5 x 10 x 42 or 44. Any suggestions or recommendations. Want a quality scope that is versatile, and will take the weather.

I have a Browning x-bolt varmint chambered in .223. It is an extremely accurate rifle. I recently purchased another x-bolt in .270. These rifles are awesome shooters out of the box. I believe the glass bedding process that Browning performs in the factory is a direct relation as to why the rifle shoots so well. I worked in a firearms shop for nearly two years and had never had an accuracy complaint from customers regarding the Browning X-bolt.
On my rifle I am using a Bushnell 3200 5-15x40mm. It hold up to any weather I have taken it through and has never given me any grief. The Nikon's are great optics as well. I would personally purchase something with a little more magnification. The Nikon buckmaster 4.5-14x40mm is a nice piece of glass for the money.

Here are some 5 shot groups I achieved while developing loads for my rifle.

Thanks for the feedback Jeromeo, greatly appreciated, on both gun performance and scope suggestions. Now leaning towards the higher magnification. And very nice grouping ... wow!!
