Common Acronyms

What's the load fire repeat one? The context is usually, "should I buy gun A or B? B costs more" "Buy gun A then you have more money to lfr (load fire repeat)" or whatever it is.

thanks for all the responses. I'm going to reasonably assume that everyone here is already familiar with the basic internet ones such as IMHO or STFU, so lets just stick to the ones more likely to be relevant when talking about guns. BBL thanks for pointing that one out that had me confused on the EE pages for a while.

heh, my BOB only requires to last me the 30 minutes or so it'll take me to get from home to work XD depending on traffic conditions.

MOA - Minute Of Angle - can someone actually define this for me? the articles and guides i've found are a bit wordy and confusing. what is one MOA as opposed to say 3?

MOA, or minute of angle without getting into stuff you don't care about anyway, is an angular measurement used for accuracy that is 1.047" @ 100 yds.

Most folk round off and generally use 1" per 100yds.

So if your firearm keeps shots inside a 1.047" diameter circle @ 100yds your firearm is considered a 1 MOA accurate firearm.

Since it is an angular measurement, if that same firearm of yours put shots inside a 2x1.047"(2.094") circle @ 200 yds it would be a MOA accurate firearm because 1 MOA@200yds is 2.094" and @ 300yds it's 3x1.047"(3.141") and so on out to say 1000yds. That would be all shots inside a 10.47" circle or 1 MOA accuracy. Rounded of it would be a 10" circle.

In summary 1 MOA increases in size as distance increases(remember it's an angular measurement) so MOA(rouned off) =1"@100yds, 2"@200yds, 3"@300yds and so on...
