anyone have or use one of their holsters? im looking at the paddle one for my new 1911. i have a 5.11 tactical for my sig but though id try a sligthly more expensive option for the 1911

side question, will a government holster work for a commander sized pistol? reason i ask is .22 conversion only come in government size up here and i want to use the same holster when i have a conversion on my pistol

I can only speak for the Backhawk Serpa which comes with both belt & paddle attachments. My Serpa fits my 1911 full size Kimber .45, Springfield 9mm and Colt .45 Commander. Great holster.

Most kydex holsters index off the trigger guard so barrel/slide length shouldn't be an issue. On a side note, Blackhawk crap doesn't even compare to quality kydex holsters..

While I don't doubt your brilliance & technical expertise in both kydex and cabon-fibre holsters I will just point out that the Serpa also "indexes" off the trigger guard and I have used them for single and double stack for a couple of years with complete confidence.

I'm a big CompTac fan. I have used one for several years for a Glock 34, and recently purchased ones for a Kimber 1911 and a S&W 625. Fit and finish on all of them are excellent. I would rate them as smoother to draw from than the Bladetech's I've tried. I've never used a Blackhawk, so I can't compare to those. All mine are belt holsters, so I can't comment on their paddle attachment. Only other Kydex holster that I've used that I would put on par with the CompTac is KyTac.

Get a Raven (Raven Concealment Systems) you can have a paddle/belt/inside/outside holster - one holster multiple attachments. Absolutely awesome quality, all day wearable.

Keep in mind the OP was looking for advice/experience with Comp-Tac products, not Blackhawk. On a side note, I second RCS. Very thin, very comfortable.
