Compact 9MM or 45ac

Local shop has a FMK Gen 2 whats your guy's opinion

Nope! I wouldn't suggest it... better options out there as others have already mentioned. More $$ I'm sure but it'll be well worth it to spend the extra few $$'s

Edit: what do you consider 'compact'? People often have quite widely varying ideas...

Smallest frame possible but still 9mm or 45, the bobberg is the perfect example

fair enough! Boberg is best bet for true compact but it is pricey... compact Glock models are good to but again, they'll cost you more and availability is low. Also, they'll have the barrel sticking out the front a fair bit which drives me crazy but YMMV. Glock 19 might be a good choice though, more compact than a 17 and the barrel protrusion isn't as in your face noticeable

Barrel sticking out is a NO NO which is why i dont want the HK

Steyr M9

I was in Reliable Gun last week and I think they might have had one. Click link above and call em. Call Wanstalls too on the Steyr, they might have one not listed. I bought mine from there.

Other wise - .45 ACP compact:

Just called one of the mentioned retailers and the guy on the phone wasnt very helpful, asked him if they had it he said no, asked him if he knew if they getting some he goes not sure they on back order, im like ok thank you for your time and he goes sure

fmk are ok. Mine worked well with factory loads They are a bit smaller than a glock 19. Retail they go for 475$ and near new used they can be had for 350 to 375$ good gun for the money.

fellow at my club has one, feels great, points great...but has regular FTF issues. Factory has replaced the striker mechanism once already with no help to the problem.....:(
