Compact break action case

Just wondering if anyone has seen a compact case for a broken down single shot rifle? I would just make something but I'm scratching my head on the compact part. What I'm looking for is something like you would maybe toss in a backpack to carry a broken down rifle.

Please leave the 'just wrap it in rags' suggestions at the door - I want a case and preferably hard but I'm thinking it's going to have to be soft.

Plano makes a gunguard case that works well for my 20 gauge o/u when its taken down. Maybe would work for you?

Looking at 24" for the barrel, 19" for the stock, and 8" for the fore grip. Case size is something that is minimally over the given dimensions.

I'm starting to think that I might get some fabric, fold it in half, and sew some pockets to make a roll up case. This task will be marginally more difficult for the lack of owning a sewing machine...

The plan to carry such a case inside a backpack rules out some of the existing compact cases as mentioned below.

Marstar offers a padded soft case that I'd used to carry a Baikal IZH-18 breechloading single shot rifle - it will accommodate upto 24in bbl and has velcro straps to secure the components....click on "Padded Covert Guncases" ..... this one could be lashed onto a back pack since the case is quite flat.

As already mentioned, the Plano Gunguard (actually Pro-max Pillarlock) designed for break action shotguns is a good cost efficient case but not something that could be easily carried in a pack.

Ok this just took me 15 min to find on that site. It appears I was unable to figure out there was a page 2....

But really that accessory case is brilliant as well. Right in the size I need/want. Now I have to find a Canadian supplier.
