Hm. So I can't seem to find a VX3i 2.5-8x36 with the B&C reticle anywhere in Canada.

Looking for something that's 12 oz or lighter, 1" tube (obviously I suppose), objective bigger than 20mm and under 40mm, with at least 6x magnification, preferably ballistic reticle and illumination, and $1k or less but nicer than the VX2 2-7x33.

My favourite is the original vari-xiii 1.75-6 the original version before they lengthened the tube (sometimes referred to as the "shorty"). However that doesn't help you much since they have long been discontinued and never came with b&c reticle.

Why not call prophet River and get a 2.5-8 brought in. They have brought in scopes for me and it only took a few days in most cases.

I like the vx3 2.5-8 on my 375, it is very light. I also like the Swarovski z3 3-9x36 I have on a kimber Montana. It is very light and compliments a light rifle well.

If you have a VX-3 3.5-10x40mm B&C kicking around, I can hook you up with a VX-3 2.5-8X36mm B&C.

The "shorty" doesn't fit on every rifle... that is why they lengthed the tube... too many complaints.

Cheers thanks gents... found a vx3i 2.5-8x36 at Sail once their site started working again. Not the BDC reticle but I'll deal. Should make a nice combo.

He was asking about a model 7. They fit the m7 fine.

Could very well be... not a Rem guy... they don't fit a No.1 even with offset rings... at least for me... but the long tube 1.75-6X32 is a nice choice... I have it on my No.1-S .45/70.

I wouldn't recommend the shorty for just any rifle. I can totally see it being a problem for many rifles. However it's like it was made for the 600/660/7.
