Can anyone make a recommendation on the Stoney Point comparator vs Sinclair's. The Sinclair looks like the better unit to me,,no moving parts!

If you mean the Sinclair one that looks like a giant 6-sided nut,.....
works OK, but I've found that with longer cartridges, it's difficult to hold the comparator and the round in alignment to get consistant measurements. Works dandy if you're just measuring bullets tho....

I would probly lean toward the Stoney Point if given the choice.

My .02.

There are two versions of the Sinclair, covering a range of calibres. It is a good quick check tool, and the price can't be beat. Also there are no small bits to lose!
I have and use both, but have switched almost exclusively to the nuts! They are the original Gun Nutz!

I have the sinclair and I find it difficult to use. i can never remember exactly how it works and I only use it on my CRF rifles which make the traditional loosely fitted bullet in case seated against the lands measurement difficult.

Thanx guys! I appreciate, as always, the considered opinions of fellow Gunnutz. In the absence of any big warnings against it, I'm gonna go with a Sinclair "gunnut". "Love that name oldbadger. Their XX-700 model accommodates both the rifle calibres I need.

Does anyone sell sinclair in Canada? Will they ship to Canada?
I don't know if anyone heard this but the stoneypoint guage and collamator are now hornady products

Sinclair most certainly will ship to Canada.
The Stoney point you may even find in a Canadian gunshop, I've seen them here and there. I got mine (Stoney Point) straight from them, back in the good old days when everyone shipped to Canada. Maybe if they've been bought out by Hornady, their international policy will change again...
