So I have been looking for a two piece duty competition belt for a while. Velcro with a heavy stiffner on the outer. I don't like the look of the race type like double alpha and ghosts. DSG had really nice ones It they don't ship to canada. I like the austri type buckles. Anyone know of any good brands? Google is failing me.

The DSG Arms competition belt peaked my curiosity and did some Googling. One reviewer commented that one downside to having the buckle is that you can't use a mag pouch at your front if that's where you happen to have a mag pouch. Too bad these aren't carried up here. I'd like to see how stiff they are.

Edit: Found a couple more reviews. On guy said it's not very stiff like a CR Speed belt. Another guy said it's a really nice belt but if you're in-between sizes, it could be a problem with getting a fit as one will be too small and the size up too big. Another reviewer said the overlap at the adjustment buckle makes it too thick for TekLock and similar attachment systems. His solution was to cut the excess and sew the end to the belt.

Line of Fire Defense ( LOF Defense) just release one. I requested one for my PRS season and 3-gun and they made it a regular product. Available in 1.5" and 2". Super stiff inner and outer. And really thin/low pro. Made in Edmonton. Great company to deal with. Cobra buckle outer. Looks a lot like the one posted above. Check out their FB.

Well hello! That looks nice. Hummm, might give one a try. Thanks.

But... if the inner belt is stiff (it should be), the buckle doesn't actually function since you can't cinch up the belt when 98% of it is velcroed down. Whats the point beyond looking tacticool?

Solid point. I guess the outer needs to be secured some how and mostly buckles look better. But if it's slightly smaller and then buckled there is no way to loosen off. Where as Velcro although unlikely could come slightly looser after running around and what not. Maybe? I don't actually know.

In my 5 years of shooting ipsc and 3 gun I've never had a belt come off if attached properly initially. This is with a double alpha belt with the keeper. Even with 3 gun, where I had 4 pistol mags, 3 rifle mags, and 24 shot shells on, running on and off roof tops...

The buckle does look better. But the keeper (a simple velcroed fabric loop) works just as well....and it allows me to place the closure point on my back, since I shoot open (so mags right below my belly button) for IPSC and have shot shell caddies in that position for 3 gun.

I run a similar system using HSGI components. HSGI velcro lined riggers belt, HSGI inner velcro belt. I also have the HSGI micro grip belt so if I need to wear a jacket like today in the rain. I attach the micro grip to the rigger belt instead of using the inner belt and wear it on top of the jacket. Works for me. I do agree with the above that the riggers belts are not as stiff as my IPSC inner outer belt setup but the flexibility to use it as a micro battle belt is worth the trade off for me.
