Competition and private property (Quebec specifically)

Hi everyone,

I'm probably not the first one to think of that but here goes : if I understood correctly the CFO in Quebec decided we couldn't move from station to station with a loaded gun, essentially killing any 2/3 gun matches in the province. (if this is incorrect please correct me)
That being said, is there anything preventing someone with a NR in a sandpit or old quarry from returning gun to condition 3 (mag in, nothing in the chamber) or 4 (no mag, nothing in the chamber), as I see it done fairly often in the states, then moving and making the stage like that ?

I know it is playing on words but given the amount that going on with the hobby...

It could work, It depends what the powers that be think.

The limit would be if you have permission to be in the gravel pit and are allowed to fire according to the area's bylaws.

I am always surprised how shooting laws are a little like squeezing a balloon. Limit almost everything in one place, and the pressure will find a way to satisfy their needs. The CFO has control of shooting at ranges. The patrol cops and game wardens have jurisdiction everywhere else.

1- where is it written that we cannot move from station to station with a loaded gun ? I have heard of this but never actually found anything written about it from CFO so I ruled it as "old boys club rules"

2- if you have the permission to be in a gravel pit, old quarry, private land, and you are safe about your shooting, you can basical'y do whatever you want as long as you remain legal IRT the firearm act and local bylaws.


For 2/3Guns and CQB, there is at least 8 matches ran in QC every year. And for the gravel pit "matches" we have ran 2 Guns (NR rifle + shotgun) matches in the past with a bunch of friends and never got harassed for it
