Fellow members, could you please advise the best section to post a thread about a bad hunting rifle deal on CGN.

I purchased a rifle from a forum member. The rifle had problems that required $300 (plus tax) of gunsmith service. The operation and condition of the rifle was misrepresented.

Please advise the best section to post the details and the members name.

Thank you

Leave negative feedback, and post a few details. I don't think that grinding your axe publicly outside the trader rating is accepted, and it appears that this may not fit the criteria for the Fraud Report Rules and Guidelines

I always thought latent defect was a very real fraud...

Deals like this always blow, no question. We have to assume that you have tried to work this out with the seller, or that you tried to return the rifle before doing the repairs? There are always three sides to every story: Your side, Their Side, and The Real Side, that is to say, what really happened.

Sorry, we are not allowed to complain about a member, no matter how bad the deal was. Only in the trader rating.

#11 Trade related disputes originated from Equipment Exchange forums shall not be discussed in the forums. All disputes and feedbacks should be confined to trader rating feedback system and private messaging.

If this is cgn's policy on trading I think I will keep my trader count at zero.

I dont want to sell any of my guns.. im the kind of person that only buys and never sells his stuff :p always been that way I dont like selling things I rather give them away..

You may submit appropriate feedback upon the deals completion. You may not post the members name or personal details on this board, unless you post it with a properly filled out accompanying fraud report filed with local law enforcement. There is a fraud reporting forum for just this purpose.

Ultimately the EE is a buyer beware system. CGN is like the classifieds in the newspapers, you buy and sell your stuff and its up to you as a buyer or a seller to do your own proper due diligence. Complaint posts will be locked, posting of personal details because of a bad EE deal will result in punitive actions against the poster.

Its unfortunate about your rifle, however CGN can do nothing to help you, unless there is a fraud complaint submitted to the police.
