Alright! Here's Living proof that you CAN Pollish a Turd!
It's a $175 Gun that Shoots Cheap Ammo. I'll be Damned if I'm not gonna have some fun with it.
Here's the Results of 2 days in the Garage!
Before:
I added that Pistol grip AGES ago with the intent of doing this....
After:
Here's how I did it.
Started by glueing and screwing a piece of 1.5" Pine dowel to the top of the ugly ass stock
Everything from then on was Automotive body filler, Wood files and sand paper!
These are after the second layer of "Bondo"
Now I'm actually shaping and smoothing out... almost finished the cheek rest
In this one here you can see I did some work on the pistol grip and started work on the cutout for the scope mount
Unfortunately I got excited and started painting before taking a picture of the finished stock
Not a HUGE fan of the colour but Hunter Green was all I had. The can cap looked good
All I have to do now is cut some material off that scope mount and paint it black. I would have done it today but I couldn't find my allen Keys
And that's all there is too it! Wow ALOT of sanding!! Probably not the best work I'll ever do but I am quite happy with it! I was sick, not only of it looking like s**t, but also of not getting a good cheak weld! I HATE LOOKING THROUGH A SCOPE WITHOUT A GOOD CHEEK WELD!
Anyway
Going to blast some stuff with it tomorrow!
Thinkin' about buying some factory hunting rounds in 7.62x39mm to see how well she can really shoot!
Cheers,
Wally
