Complete unissued Brazilian 1908 Mauser!

International was the retail, Century was the wholesale part of it.
If $159.95 was retail, I would like to know how much was the wholesale price.

well, i got one at WOOLCO for 75 otc back in the day- 159 must have been a gunshop or something- and it was in '06 as well

As someone not knowing too much about these.......That wasn't actually made in 1908 was it? Regardless, its a beautiful piece of engineering and the bayonet, Solingen steel. If I may be rude, how much did that beautiful piece cost?

Amazing rifle! Got to love that slick action.

Sort of puts the saying "They don't make them like that anymore" into perspective.

I'd suggest that you find a decent 1908 on the used market and use it as a shooter (I've kept two Brazilian Mausers for that very purpose) while keeping the unfired one as the collectable that it is. Just my $0.02 worth.

A buddy of mine bought one of these unissued ones back in the late '70's for well under $200. Regrettably, the first thing that happened was the bayonet got sharpened. It ended up as a "behind the seat" rifle for the farm truck. :(

They don't make them like this any more...

Alan Lever brought those in to Canada in about 1974. He also had new Model 1935 rifles as well. They came with the original test targets. The slings were so old they mostly cracked if you flexed them.

I remember stacks of sealed cases of them in his shop. I bought a 35 and foolishly sold it when the budget was tight during the family years.

I am very proud of this one:

paid around $450 early last year from BC.

Also own a 1908 in same pristine condition ($400, 14 years ago in Quebec), as well as a 1909 Arg. Mauser ($225, 12 years ago Quebec), same condition

I remember those and it was International firearms who had the ad on the back page of the Gunrunner. For a while they were selling original Colt 1851 Navy Perucssion revolvers London Marked, with Upper and Lower Canada markings.

I was young at the time....I wish my father would have pushed me to buy one of these Colts as he did for the Mausers!:(
Don't worry the Mauser will never see a bullet....

You can see on the target, it was tested on June 23rd 1913!
Around $200...in the 70's

Done that, it will stay as it is...until I give/sell it!
