I've done the research via google and the search and haven't found a suitable answer.

I'm reloading 8mm in mixed brass, both igman and FC. The load is a 184 gr bullet on 53 grains of IMR 4350. Problem is that while it easily fits in an igman case, it sits 1-2mm higher in the FC cases. This leads to slight, yet definite compression of the load. The powder isn't so compressed that it's pushing the bullet back out by any means, but I'm still unsure if this is a safe thing to do.

So, is compressing powder a bit ok? Are there any rules of thumb for how much compression is acceptable?
