That does look great. Any before/after pics you can post? I'm wondering what the stock looked like when all the cosmo was taken off and before the refinishing.
 
I think you need to open an on line course "How to restore Mosin rifle" and write a detailed tutorial! You gonna have some many followers.... Unless you want to be the ONLY guy with a nice Mosin....
 
Unfortunately I didn't take any "before" pics. I just ripped it apart minutes after I got it and went to work.

I got pretty lucky with this one because there was no damage to the stock (gouges and stuff). I think the stock was a new one used during the refurb. All I had to do was remove the old finish and apply a new one.

The M38 that I'm working on now is going to be a little more work... So far I've stripped it, sanded it, and stained it. Now I have to wait a few days before I apply the shellac.
