Concerning M305

I feel a strange bonding with you guys lololol. I do get the occasional spot checks too, a la gestapo method. If nothing pans out, and she can't pin anything, I start getting the guilt trip method thrown at me. It never works, my addiction is greater than any guilt ;)

While I get the guilt trip speach every now and then she still goes shooting with me the majority of the time. Thats Terry shooting the 305 in the avatar. So not much was said when I bought a second one and turned it into a Socom. Now she's just waiting for warm weather to try it out. Maybe I'm just a lucky guy...Bob

Peep sights. And very good peep sights because the rear sight can be adjusted for both windage and elevation with the knobs on the sides.

the more i read on this site, the more i want one.
It's totally worth it. I hemmed and hawed for the longest time before buying one and I don't regret it. The only problem I have with mine is that for some reason it shoots way off to the right, so I have to crank the sights all the way over and it also means I can't scope it because scopes don't have enough adjustment space to compensate for it, but it's still accurate and fun to shoot with iron sights.

Turning the quarter upside down, occasional sopt check, maybe occasional strip & cavity search?
We do love our girls, or what... ;)

My ex was kinda like what you guys have to contend with. Guns and ammo were "toys" that we couldn't afford, yet a closet full of shoes and other useless #### was perfectly fine. The gal I'm with now doesn't have a problem with me buying whatever the hell I please as long as the bills are paid and thats the way it should be! Having to hide money for something you want and are saving up for is bull#### if you ask me, and a sure sign of things to come.

I had a similiar problem with mine, but it's fixed now.

It took almost a year, but I finally have my Tac-Pac scope hitting bulls-eyes.

I had to get the first Marstar scope mount replaced because it didn't fit onto the rifle properly. Had to use a washer on the new mount though.

Then my gunsmith and I tried to get the gun zeroed. We kept trying to get the scope to align properly on the mount, but it looked and shot crooked.

At it's former best setting, it was shooting about an inch to the left of the bulls-eye with no more play in the crosshairs.

We were going to try and shim the scope rings, when my gunsmith said we should try turning the scope rings around.

The scope ring's attachment screws to the mount rail were facing left.

They are now facing to the right (same side as the cocking handle) and I'm hitting the bull as of Sunday.

I still have some play in the scope to the left and right as well.

Hope this helps.

Not really. My Marstar scope mount fits nice and tight on the rifle, but the rifle inherently shoots way off to the right even with the iron sights, so it's a rifle issue, not a scope mount issue. It's still good with iron sights, but it's kind of annoying in that if I ever want to sell the rifle, it'll kind of detract from the resale value. What on earth would make a rifle shoot like that? The rifle itself looks pretty decent.

Do you know which way your scope ring attachment screws are facing?

Does your scope look aligned and centered with the barrel?

Well if I do ever get an M305/M14S, I would most likely go out and find a large bar of aluminum and try to make a SAGE type Chop Mod stock. No need to glass bed those is there? Then I'd cut the barrel down to 18.75" and thread some type of FH on there. But these are all "if's" and "would be's". Hell, I still need to find a chunck of T6 aluminum to finish the lower half of the B&T type rail for my VZ58S project.
Just a side note on barrel measurement, where do you start to measure?
Is it the overall length of the barrel? Thanx.

Hmmmm.... I didn't know that this was an isue with the M305s, the misalignment of the scope mount that is.... that kind of sucks, I wonder how common that is, cuz that'll definitely be a con on my list for getting one or not getting one.... :p

Are you guys positive it'sw the rifle, and not the scope or scope mount????

Thanks

I thought I might have a mount misalignment problem with my Norc until I tried the scope on another rifle and had the same problem with it as well. When the crosshairs are centralized the mpi is a foot to the right at 50 yards:eek: I wasted 20 rounds figuring that out with the M14, my boresight doesn't sit high enough to use it with the M14, but when I mounted the scope on a bolt rifle, it was obvious.
