Concerns with P226

So I picked up a new Sig P226 from Wolverine supplies today and I've noticed that after taking the pistol home and disassembling it, the sights are not white but a strange almost orange color. Also it looks like there is an excessive amount of barrel wear for a brand new pistol. Is this normal for sigs or am I just worrying about nothing? Thanks!

PS: I just noticed that the feed ramp is also slightly bent to one side.

sights may still have some factory grease on it, try and spray some WD40 on it and see if it's clear-up to pure white
a new barrel HAS TO BE black and show no "smiles" or other scratches
same with bbl ramp, it doesn't have to show copper or other residues from shooting....
IMHO your pistol is an used one or highly handled as a display firearm....my 0.02c

BTW do you have any pictures to show us?

It's a blue box it came in and it still had the factory wrappings and whatnot on it when I opened it. Is there a chance that I was duped into buying a used or refurbished firearm? And no sorry guys I don't have pics.

You really need to post pic's if you want an honest opinion. The barrel will have a few "smilies" just from the slide being racked a few times. If you really do have "excessive" wear contact Wolverine they are great to deal with and have an excellent reputation.

I contacted wolverine and am just waiting for a reply. The barrel wear is apparently considered normal, what bothers me though is that the feed ramp is bent and has burs on the corners. The pistol is also dated from April 2008 according the serial number and the date on the hardcase. I just find it strange that I paid full price for a new pistol and find these strange blemishes and not to mention the firearm is already 4 years old.

To be clear, did you pay

$850 for Certified (CPO)

or

$925 for NEW?

April 2008 isn't a new gun. A new gun shouldn't be more than 6 months old...

(Cabelas Canada has NEW 226's for $879 on backorder...)

Both of my Sig's boxes had significant wear on them but with recent date stamps. Pistols were perfect. It's hard for the experts on this forum to tell you what is up, without pics.

I paid 925 for a new P226 in .40 S&W. It came in factory wrapping and still had the factory grease on it when I took it out. It had a fair amount of dust on the case. I will try to upload pictures on my lunch break.

My new 40cal kit, in grease. Yours probably looks like this? Mine has some wear (where metal meets metal), feed ramp/bore is perfect... Happy with mine. Think I have night sights, white/green colour.

Without seeing pics of the feed ramp, it sounds like the gun is fine. Considering the anecdotal grumbling about Sig's decline a 2008 production gun may be preferable to a 2012 model...

My circa '95 Sig was a great buy (used) from Wolverine. If there is something wrong with the gun they will try to make it right.

So good news, contacted wolverine and they advised to bring the pistol in ASAP. Sent them pictures of the feed ramp and took it in and they gave me a barrel swap after inspecting other models they had there. They discovered that the majority of their 226s in .40 had a feed ramp defect. How they passed QC, I have no idea.

Barrels look like #### coming from the factory. And if it doesn't it will look like #### in short order. They fade easy...just cosmetics. Still will function flawlessly

Sorry guys I didn't keep the pictures I sent to wolverine. They replaced my barrel and I'm curious, on the left side of the barrel it says the normal sig sauer, however there's a DE marking right underneath it, what's that mean? Perhaps a German made barrel?
