OK, lots of people will think this is weird... but I might as well come out of the closet on this one. ;)

A while back I finally scratched up enough dough to get the "holy grail" of .223's - a PE 90.

I have to confess before all, that I did not fall in love with this rifle... I found it long, heavy, and clunky feeling... maybe it just didn't fit, or I should have gotten a CQB version....

.....but anyhow, I eventually sold it and now recently bought a 14.5" AR ... and I LOVE it! Should have done this a long time ago!
Why didn't someone tell me!

So now my journey to the poor house has accelerated........ :runaway:

Count me in. I've tried a M96, PE90, AR180B and a 20" AR - there's something about my 14.5 that just feels comfortable.

i cant say anything about the pe90, other than im glad i got the ar before anything else. I dont think i need to buy any other guns for quite a while. I have heard your comments about the 90 from other people too.

The fullsize PE90 is heavy and long and clunky.
The 551 LB version is better balanced and still gives good ballistics. I would really like to have the 14.3" version of the 551 carbine, that would be ideal.

The 14.5" does have some mysterious appeal doesn't it. I had a SIG CQB, 20" AR, some plastic SMG's but kept coming back to the AR carbine. Though if I had the chance and cash I'd scoop up another CQB or 14.3" 551.

I was thinking about mentioning that but the 951 is on my M4gery with a mess of red loctite.

You could still buy lunch....

I'll do better than that.....

Once the new Chateau popcan is built, you and I can gather up a bunch of the guys and I'll host an M4-gery weekend at the lake! (there's a range nearby);)

Those without better get building now.

yeah but can you walk around the farm with your AR?
i bought an AR as well but the "sproing" noise when firing was very disconcerting and being restricted to ranges even more so....

Adding pics of the new addition...

That's a nice little AR build, Popcan. With the CTR and rail system on there, it actually looks a lot like mine (except that I'm looking to mount an Eotech instead of the carry handle)

Enjoy. Pound for pound, it's hard to find more fun than an AR. (legally)

I don't have a farm, but I also don't see a need to walk around my properties with an AR either.... shotgun or bolt rifle from the safe is plenty in case of bear problems, varmints etc.

As far as my AR goes, "this is my rifle, this is my gun....."..... and they're both for fun! :D

Popcorn,
I shoot the same way with the elbow in. You can hold the rifle much easier.
Plus with police qualifications, I can turn the baton upside down and rest my left elbow on it :D.
Gives even more support.
