Hi all,
I ran out of Hoppe's no9 solvent during my last range visit. *I know, how irresponsible of me!*
Visited a local shop (Dante's in Mtl) and the sales guy recommended g96 solvent instead. I've heard of others recommending it also, but heard it was crazy strong stuff.
Can anyone else confirm what I've already heard? Should I neutralize the solvent with a patch of rubbing alcohol and followed by a dry patch? (As recommended by the sales guy). Figured if this stuff is crazy strong and I don't want to use it every time I go to the range (weekly), I could keep it for a deep cleaning every few hundred rounds or less?
Also, do you guys store your firearms (short or long term) lubbed or dry?
I tend to store mine wet, and run a couple dry patches before every cold bore shot.
Side note: I am aware the are as many opinions on this, or any, forum, as there are members, but looking for a post from someone who uses the stuff.
Looking forward to mining you all for knowledge and experience.
