Confiscation From Businesses Beginning

Is C/Supt Amanda Jones a licensed Firearms Seizure Agent for the province of Alberta? I don’t see that in her fancy signature block.

This email needs to be forwarded to Teri Bryant post haste with a request to determine whether or not C/Supt Jones has been licensed as a seizure agent. If she has not I fully expect the Government of the Province of Alberta to initiate action against her pursuant to the Alberta Firearms Act.

Good afternoon,
I am C/Supt Amanda Jones with the RCMP in Ottawa. I am currently assigned to the RCMP Firearm Compensation Team who is providing assistance to Public Safety Canada on the implementation of the federal Firearm Compensation Program, known as the Buy Back Program. I am only speaking to the firearms that have been listed as prohibited in the May 2020 Order in Council.
One of the things the RCMP is assisting PS Canada on is the collection of firearms from businesses. We have identified a location for receiving the firearms from businesses where we will be doing the processing for validation, that leads to payment, and the destruction. In order to get a sense of how many firearms we will be receiving from businesses, I was hoping I could have a quick phone call with someone at the company to learn how many previously non‐restricted and
restricted firearms, that are now prohibited, you have in your inventory, including upper receivers. This information will help inform us as to the numbers we can expect from businesses, especially the previously non‐restricted numbers.
I thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply.

Respectfully,

Amanda

I applaud the resistance Prophet River, you guys are my favs.

What clowns we have in government… blindly implementing sh!t without having a clue, then asking the firearms community to assist… get bent.

Reading carefully, this does not sound like a confiscation. If I would have $200K of useless inventory, I would not know for sure what to do. Maybe to some dealers this is peanuts, to some it may not be.

But it also shows that the government is literally clueless, which is good news.

Perhaps this is the reason. Initiate a fight with a province. Use guns and pushing federal supremacy, add a fresh haircut/Botox, call a surprise federal election.

Pay no attention to those people taking bribes behind the curtain

What law gives her the power to even ask those questions?

For all we know it's probably just Marco sitting in his pajamas in his basement while sipping his hot lavender chamomile tea using a burner email account. That's not even an actual signature - no phone, no email, lmao. Marco's burner account for sure.

There's something weird about the wording of that email... reads like phishing.

Anyway I have come to believe that the governments are incompetent and incapable of grand conspiracies... but they sure are capable of F'ing things up for us.

For a Colonel equivalent rank with years of service and no doubt many formal documents to her name, I found the grammar clumsy. Is the team /who/ or the team /which/? A person would be named and be a /who/, but a collective noun would be the more neutral /which/.

Grammar aside, I agree that without legislative authority she can ask as many policing questions as she wants but The Charter protects a citizen, and businesses can be persons under the law, from self-incrimination. In my mind, the only option for the RCMP to expect compliance is to file search warrants for every firearms businesses and conduct a search for documents of inventory or a physical count of pieces.

Until such time as the question is asked legally, you should politely acknowledge the question but refer all correspondence to counsel.
