Conflicted. Girsan MC28 or S&W SD9.

Girsan has a terrible trigger. I kept wondering if the striker had failed to ####; but if you squeeze hard enough it will go bang.

The mags kept bumping onto some inside frame or whatever I didn't bother looking at (it is mentionned in one of these wonderful online reviews). Also I could press the trigger and release the striker before the slide was in battery.

The gun went back. It's unbelieveable that the latest offer be the crappiest.

How many rounds are through it?

635 so far. only ammo it doesnt like is steel case Maxx Tech. but not many guns like that ammo. Best stuff so far i put though it is the Winchester Forged... (steel case) I have also fired Federal aluminum case bulk ammo, Seller & Bellot FMJ, American Eagle FMJ, Winchester white box FMJ and a few rounds of Winchester Ranger and Speer Law Enforcement. All functioned perfectly. I have also picked up the APEX spring kit but have not installed it yet. Gun shoots fine. for the money it is a real gem.

The winchester forged and two law enforcement ammo varieties i have tried seem hotter then the other ammo. They have a better point of aim at the full length of the pistol range. The others have a lot of drop especially the S&B

I own several hammers - some more expensive and better than others but they will all drive a nail.

When I decided to get my rPAL and buy "something" my internet research lead me to look at what was available and check the reviews. The Girsan MC28 gets pretty good reviews and it was considerably less expensive than other options. So here's the way I approach a new sport or hobby; buy a functional but relatively inexpensive version of whatever the thing is and try it out. If I decided to learn to play the guitar I wouldn't buy a professional level guitar but a basic model. Maybe I don't like playing the guitar, maybe I drop it or mess it up somehow. I know that eventually, if I stick with it, I'll upgrade to a better guitar and when I do I'll have a better I idea of what's important to me. So it goes with this hobby. I have since purchased a much better pistol, lighter, less recoil, better trigger, red dot (for more than 5 times the price of the Girsan). I still have the Girsan. Do I regret buying it? Not in the least. Taught me a lot about the effect of different backstraps on my grip, learned how to be accurate with a trigger that requires a longer pull, learned about how to place my finger on the trigger.

I learned to drive stick on an old beat up Toyota, could have saved my money until I could afford a Corvette I guess but that old Corolla taught me a lot.

Showing newbies to shoot with those make of guns are not the best way to get them interrested in the sport.:)

Each case of ammo is gonna cost ya 290 after taxes on a good day. Why in the world wouldnt you save up the extra 200 bones and get a used glock or m&p? Youll spend thousands on ammo in your lifetime, to put through a pistol that you cheaped out on by a couple hundred dollars..

Turkey sent ammo to ISIS. Plenty of empties traced to them around massacre sites. Why support them?

So did the US, so did Israel, so did Saudi....if you have been following US foreign policy for a couple of decades you would see the situation for what it is. Find a Noam Chomsky book and read it. But I doubt the OP asked for half a history lesson.

Buy what you want, I would recommend an M&P 2.0 a Canik or CZ P10 though. Not a lot more money for a lot more gun.
