Brought home a new norinco HP9 12.5" barrel shotgun with ghost ing sights. On the reciever its PD12SG not HP9 like others I have seen- even on my registration upon closer examination it says Norinco as make and model is PD12SG- shouldn't it of said HP9? Now I'm confused whether I actually got an HP9? What do your receivers have stamped on them? Should I be worried?

Who did you buy it from. My HP9 said HP9 on it.

The HP-9s with 12.5 inch barrels are actually 14 inchers with the barrel swapped out by the retailer. Most are DA or Dlask aftermarkets. No big deal as long as it says HP-9 on the reciever.

Batch of PD12SG's just came in. They are the 12.5" with ghost rings that you are currently seeing for sale. Made in the same place as the DA shotguns

so to clarify- these are not HP9's or 780's- they are a norinco model that feature ghost ring sights and have a 12.5" barrel? They are made in the same factory as the DA shotguns and could I conclude that they are also compatible with all 870 accessories as well as as reliable as the hp9's and grizzly's?

It is the same gun in the same config as canada ammo was im$porting undere their house brand DA Arms. Same factory in china.
As for paets fitting. We tested all of S&J 870 products and they fit with no issues or mods.
Hope that helps.

Just want to say thanks for all the info. I'm patiently awaiting my PAL/RPAL (should be here in a couple weeks) and Ive had my eye on this sort of shotgun for awhile now.
I'd been looking at the DA Grizzly, which always seem pretty much un-available so it is good to see something pretty much the same in stock....at least for now. Hopefully the dang license gets here soon...I'm starting to gt a little envious.
(Hope to be able to contribute more soon.)
