Congrats to my kids!

Heh,

More specifically, he wants MY Glock 17 (or at least, that's the one he's sort of tried out now.)

Thanks for running the BB this weekend, I guess this means I can now post in this forum, eh? Or do I have to wait until I do my first match?

Good fun.

No worries, welcome to the perennially broke, press-sore, brass cleaning, primer deal needing, "zone" searching, rule #####ing, non-liberal voting, ICS hating, norc bashing, timer holding, lead breathing, gun coveting, benos surfing, Air Canada hating, gun destroying world of IPSC.

Feel free to add more, if you resemble any of these. :D

Cz loving?

Atleast, thats what last weekend, Ronny's 75b and your son's Sp01 did to me.

Norinco who?

Well it is just a matter of time for both of us I think!

Mind you I have both a daughter and son to contend with.

I am certain I will never live it down when it happens

I am so glad to see other dads getting their kids into the shooting sports. My son, Andrew, is 13 and we are both members of the Sharon Gun Club.... and the Metro Revolver Club.

Both of these Clubs ACTIVELY promote youth participation. Andrew has never felt so warmly welcomed and he just loves to go shooting with his dad on the weekends. There is nothing he would rather be doing it would appear.

This past weekend we spend ALL day Saturday at Sharon shooting rifles and pistols (he shot everything from .22LR to .45ACP pistols - he shoots single shot peep sight rifles in .22LR; and Anschuts 64 and a Mossberg 144LSB. The Anschutz is going to need a little work as the bolt pulled apart when trying to remove it from the rifle Saturday). We spent Sunday morning shooting at Metro Revolver Club and then out to lunch with the boys.

And we learned some new stuff this weekend! I never realized that IPSC was open to youth. So now, Andrew and I will be taking the Black Badge course together and nothing could be finer to a very proud dad. We are teaching so many things in the process. I just wish I could wean him from paintballing. It's too expensive!

Anyway, looking forward to meeting all the other dads with their kids on the range(s) in the coming months as we enter the IPSC arena.

That is great news Torontogunguy!

My son has been shooting at EESA since he was 5 years old and my daughter since she was 8.

I honestly think that my son has shot a greater variety of guns in the past 9 years than I have! At every EESA or CGN shoot he always got to shoot the "cool" guns as people wanted to make sure he had a good time.

As you said they were very very friendly to both of them and concerned with their enjoyment and safety.
Get your BBs before September so you can both attend the EESA Drama Daze High School fund raiser!!

We will have them for sure before September.... trying to round up ten souls to get a course set up indoors at Metro RC (at Target Sports) so that it goes on rain or shine.... we have some guys that are far too busy to have their calendars messed up by rain or shine.

Look forward to meeting you and the crew.

Hey Murray...

if you haven't alreday...please check out the BB Course schedule here http://www.ipsc-ont.org/bbcourse.htm

Even if there is nothing in the schedule close to you...I would advise filling out the online form...it's get's you on the list of ineterested parties...and helps the clubs to organise upcoming courses...

Also...in case you didn't know...the BB course fees and membership fees are waived for juniors (up till they are 21)

Looks like you're starting off on the right foot.

Keep in touch and do contact me if I can do anything to help

Regards

Ben's buddy Alex with Win Defender

Cold but fun - followed by Cokes and fries lead to a great (albeit foggy) day on the range!
