Connaught F class Tourney

Terry,
I submitted my registration (photocopied it 40 times to see if I could fool them) with 1 entry fee.
Hopefully we'll see the 100 or so entrants as in 06 match. Would be a sad situation for the country that gave birth to F Class cancel an International Match due to lack of
participation.

I highly doubt it on...

Unfortunately with a ranch and a "real job", I am unable to commit to Connaught before May, but that may change. Unfortunate the committment is needed so early. Not to mention to 4-digit cost of getting there, staying and getting back. Kills me because I want to see it succeed very much.

maybe I'm blind... but where is the info on this tourney? I've not noticed anything on the DCRA site about an upcoming event at Connaught. It's hard to sign up for something that you can't find any info on...

:)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

ah, never mind. I dug down under the "Entry Forms" page and started clicking though the PDF documents. I think that you guys are referring to the "The 2008 DCRA 900 Metre F Class & Open" competition?

Not exactly easy to find though. Might be worth an e-mail to the webmaster to get a note put up on the front page of the site.

The entire site needs a major overhaul and redesign.
Just compare it to some of the other countries National sites.
Sad really.

The Latest News

There are close to 20 competitors signed up (DCRA office estimate), and the final decision is pending next week. So...I'm sure some fence sitters out there should be now jumping to register. If they get a sudden influx of registrations, but fail to make the magic number of 40, this will favourably influence the decision. It's kind of like organising a dance, you never know how many are going to show up at the door wanting to buy a ticket. But you sure feel better having sold enough advance tickets.

BTW, the Germans are coming. The competition is looking better already.

When I called on the 30th, she didn't take my card #- just my phone number, saying she would call if the numbers got close. I would have happily paid, but it was almost as if she had already given up, and didn't want to have to do a refund. Maybe I should call back?

Holy crap! Phone back and tell her you want to sign up right away. Worst case...you get your money back.

A wee note to the 70 viewers since I last posted. Some of you seem interested enough, so sign up, and we'll see you in late August. Remember, the Germans are coming.:dancingbanana:

There's a definite issue with communication. I shoot at Connaught, I'm a member of the DCRA and the NCRRA, and this is the first I'm hearing about this match.

(Guess I should pay more attention to this "precision matches" forum...)

Off to download the info...

Also, a question: on the list of ORA matches, they seem to happen everywhere except Connaught -- what's up with that?

The NCRRA is not part of the ORA. I think this goes way back when it was called NDHQRA which I heard they are going back to.

They both exist and they both refer to the same club. :) NCRRA and NDHQRA are the two arms of the same club, one for civilian members and the other for military members.
