Weather was very tough on shooters on Sat, lots wind and some rain, shooting was held up Sunday till noon because of heavy rain in am.
Some nice shooting range 2600 acres in the city of Ottawa, any shooter should take time to visit if in Ottawa.
43 shooters finnished in full bore and 13 in F/O class F class.
Some awsome guns in F class the two day winner was using a 270wsm case necked up to 7mm with 180gr bullets.

Sunday was incredible. It rained all Saturday night long and most of Sunday morning till about noon. I didn't think we were going to get to shoot! After that we got started and we did all three relays rain free!...

Congrats to Al Warner on his grand agg win.

We were using the 500 yard targets at 700-800-900 meters...
not a whole lotta real estate to float around on.

I know I had between 6 to 9 minutes windage on my rig at times on Saturday and that's a far bit for us f'ers. I guess some of the TR guys had a lot more. Sunday it was a bit calmer...

The new sod on the long range firing lines is really really nice... anyone shooting the nationals is gonna love it!

John, what happen to maynard on the second day? Did he have rifle problems or something? Don't tell me he was doggi'n it on the second day?

Thanks,

David

I'm not sure Dave... I did see him, actually talked to him but most of the time he was way over on the left and we was way over on the right... He did say he way participating in some Palma stuff then blowing the popstand and flying to England to enjoy more rain and fog... as if he didn't get enough of that...
I don't remember him saying when they're flying back... guess it depends whether the Brits throw him out sooner than later... ah wish him and the rest of the Canadian palma team the best shooting they can pull off.

Do us proud boyz or risk the wrath of unspeakables. hah!

Maynard's plan was to stay as dry as possible before leaving for Bisley. I figured a wet leather shooting jacket and wet kit would add 100 lbs to the luggage.
That plan in the UK did not work out so well as it rained every flipping day except the day we came home. The rain was so bad the NRA UK suspended the shooting for one day, which is unheard of in the UK unless you can't see the targets. There was a lake between the 300 and 400 yard firing points. I have pictures of a guy out there in a kayak and several people swimming.
Several butts on Centry were flodded for several days.
