Connauught Ranges

Here's a pic of Connaught that I took this morning. Actually it's a really crappy pic from my Iphone. It just struck me how cold and desolate the ranges looked today. Winter is certainly here.

Trying to wrap my head around what the angle is (I've never seen Connaught from the air). Is the photo taken from (beyond) the northeast corner of the range? (i.e. "A" range at the right arrow, "C" range at left arrow)

Yes, the OP was out over Ottawa River to the Northeast. The leftish arrow is the 1000yd line, the square treeline is along the left side and just behind the butts, the curved treeline is what you see on the right side of the range. What surprises me is how close the swamp is on that right side.

nice pic, i used to live in ottawa and have shot at the range a few time. there is a huge training area behind the range. lots of deer too!
