Cons of Corrosive Ammo?

There's a such thing as a high-end 7.62x39? 
As long at the rifle is subject to a good cleaning soon after it it used with corrosive, you will be fine. I started using Windex with/avec Vinegar like I do in my black powder cartridge rifles and haven't had any issues.

I fired around 70rds of this stuff with my Russian SKS and it's so bloody dirty. Nothing else to compare. I scrub and scrub and pull patches for 15 mins and patches still comes out black but not as black as first few minutes. I give up... 15 mins of cleaning and I call it quits. If the barrel goes kaput, so be it.
When you get home after shooting, flush the barrel and the gas system with boiling water, the heat will dry the the metal in a sec. After clean as usual with bore cleaner if you want and oil very slightly. I use this method with my cz and after many many hundred rounds, bore is like new, never have any rust. The secret is cleaning and that dont take so much time doesn't matter what peoples say.

It is just a pain in the ass but that's the price you pay for being able to get 1120 rounds for 200 bucks. Not a bad price to pay if you like to shoot. Problem is your high end rifle won't be shooting MOA with surplus ammo. If you just want to have fun buy an sks or a CZ 858, the accuracy will be the same anyways, and you can buy a couple crates with the money you save.

It's not nearly as accurate as most other ammo, and you do need to flush out those salts before regular cleaning, whether you use Windex or hot water or whatever. It is worth doing, for the cost savings, however.
"...Use boiling ammonia..." The gases will kill you.
Plain hot water is the way to flush corrosive primer salts. The cleaning part of Windex is the water in it. Ammonia does nothing.

Aint no ammonia in windex - its ammonia "D" - a dessicant, not in the same chemical class as ammonia.
Windex prevents the flash rusting that happens with water, and you dont have to go to all the trouble of boiling etc.
Windex cleans as well as boiled water and its worth a couple of bucks to save on all the work.
i use a product called muzzle magic by birchwood casey it is ment for blackpowder rifles and corrosive primers 2 min cleading with that and clean(or oil as) normal and your done numerus thousand rounds of rnds through my 858 and the bore is still a1
