Considering taking the plunge on a DT11, sporting clays is my game. I'm an average club shooter, truly do I need a DT11 well thats a debate that could span many pages on a gun forum that I'm not really interested in. I'm not set on a particular model just yet within the DT11 range but suspect I'll be sticking with the nickel finished receiver as much as I do like the scroll work on some versions the jump in price is significant on the higher grade variants. The black edition ones look cool but I've heard mixed reviews on how the finish stands up compared to the other options (aside from the new DLC version)

There's a few used units on various retailers sites which could save a few bucks, but theres always the nagging concern of how well it was cared for previously etc...

I'm shooting a 694 B-Fast with 32 inch barrels now and its been very good, no real complaints. It also comes goose hunting each fall, I just prefer it to other guns no matter the task.

Wondering what peoples opinions are on who best to deal with in Canada for one of these, always nice to get a nice piece of wood with a new gun and I've seen a fair amount of variation on the ones I've looked at online that have actual photos and not website manufacturer pictures. These aren't known for exhibition grade wood of course as the intent is for the stock to last and straighter grain seems to be the best path forward there.

Good luck on. Your DT11 hunt, wants and needs are two very different thing but if you want a DT11 and can afford one then get one or a New Browning 825 (Couldn't help myself Im a Browning guyšŸ˜) lifes short. Enjoy shooting sporting clays.

Prophet River has a DT 11 sporting with a very nice walnut stock. And Prophet River is as good as it gets for customer service.
Yup been eyeing that one in particular, and agree Prophet River sets the standard for retailers and how they deliver service.

They are top tier, years ago I bought an M1A Springfield from them, they mailed it out as usual and something happened within Canada Post and it never got delivered....Clay literally just dropped another rifle in the mail and said not to worry about it and they would handle with Canada Post and their insurance.

Mind was blown, they are truly a great company.

While not a sponsor here, The Gun Dealer in McAdam NB has always given me stellar service.
Yup ! My goto place here in the east coast !

He has a few new ones in stock including the new DLC Black and the ACS model ...a buddy of mine just got one last fall, (ACS) once he got it dialed in..WOW....he's deadly with it ! Also has a nice used one there on consignment...I believe it's one of a lot of some higher end guns.

I've owned a DT11 ACS for 9 years and love the gun. However, don't be too quick to sell your 694. A couple of months ago I shot a 694 ACS and really liked it.

I bought mine privately so can't recommend a dealer but should you get a DT11 check YouTube for videos on how to remove and reinstall the drop-out trigger. It's not as simple a process as a Perazzi and if you don't reinstall it correctly it can drop out unexpectedly.

Interestingly, a friend of mine who has a DT11 is looking at getting a 694.

My recollection of firing the 694 was that it didn't handle much differently than my DT11 but it was lighter. I'm not about to replace my DT but if I had a 694 that I was happy with I might not consider the DT that much of an improvement relative to the price difference.

Buddy of mine bought a new DT11 Un-single from Calgary Firearms Center around early/mid-2023.
By early 2024, it would no longer eject.

Took it back to CFC, but they couldn’t help (after looking it over) and asked him to send it in to Stoeger Canada. He didn’t, and continues to shoot the gun. It works fine, otherwise (but is extract-only).

Any "good" news yet Devlin, didja pull the trigger ? lol
Not yet just waiting on some end of year bonus payments to come through before I make a decision. Closest store to me is a 2 hour drive away to go and get hands on with one so may do that as well, but expect if i do go ahead it will be with Prophet River just because of how good they are to deal with.

Well a funny thing happened on the way to the DT11...walked into local shop just to look at a 28 gauge 725 Sporting they had on hand and it ended up following me home sooooo the DT11 is gonna have to wait a bit longer. I'm an absolute sucker for sub-gauge guns.
