Prior to the B&E I was a victim of on Friday AM (see Discussion and Alerts for the thread) I had been planning on taking my sister and her BF to TSE over the weekend for her birthday.

Naturally I had been planning on shooting the USP and SP101... :bangHead:

We went regardless and shot a pile of different range guns. The 'kids' had a great time... grins all around.

I stopped back in to TSE on Sunday to pick up a GC so the sis and BF could go again, and was feeling really sorry for myself and missing my USP a lot. :(

To make a long story short...

My new Kimber Custom Stainless TLE/RL II in .45 ACP.

I'll admit to never having shot a 1911 pistol of any variety before, and all I can say is HELL YEAH!

NOW THAT'S WHAT A PISTOL SHOULD FEEL LIKE!!!

I'm impressed beyond words, and after only 50 rounds.

Will give a range report later.

Oh yeah, I also picked up one of these, for nighttime Zombie attacks.

Mine is going to look like this.... I hope.

Another one converts to the almighty 1911 :)

Congrats, beautiful gun! My TLEII was picky about which ammo it liked to shoot but after that was sorted out, it was a great gun.

Picky in what way darko; accuracy or functioning?

I never understood the whole 1911 thing, once I'd shot one I got it though. You really do find yourself going ' Ohhh, that's why! ' plus all of a sudden most of the things you've read about handgun shooting make perfect sense (Grip, hold, stance etc.) The downside is that if you shoot it regularly for a while the next double stack, double action pistol you pick up will feel like crap. Very nice consolation gift!!!

I bought Darko's Kimber and it's not picky. You don't shoot wadcutters through a 1911. He was having problems with wadcutters. Stay with FMJ or hollow points and you'll be fine.

Kimbers are great guns, here are mine
