I am looking for decent scope, it needs the ability to view the near area out to around 1000m. Presently looking at the Night Force scope, 3.5 - 15 x 50 withthe iluminated MLR reticle. Looking for reports on the Night Force system and or possibly alternativr scopes. My present weapons for this scope are AR-15 (5.56mm NATO) and AR-10 (7.62mm NATO this has a 24" hvy floated barrel flat top). Comments?

5.5x22x56

I own the above but with the NPR2 reticle. I love it it the optics are great, the ranginging reticle works awesome. In fact I am gonna buy another and put it on my project .20BR rifle.

I was looking at buying a Nightforce 5.5 - 22 X 50mm with Illuminated MLR reticle, but I managed to sell off enough excess gear to afford a 5 - 25 X 56mm S&B PM-II with Illuminated P4 reticle.

If things didn't work out, I would have no problem buying a Nightforce.

Ed, any particular reason you went from the 50 to the 56? I know why I like the 56mm, curious what may you go to the bigger objective....

I am trying to patiently wait for my NF 8-32BR scope to arrive! Something to keep in mind is that their BR scopes are 1/8th MOA clicks while the NXS scopes are 1/4MOA... Just in case you are feeling picky! :D

The 56mm was the last one V-Bull Precision had. I would have no problem with a 50mm objective, when I was doing my research, I found that stock was limited on these scopes, and I would have had to probably wait until Xmas to get one if I ordered it, so I jumped on this one.;)

Great glass, great reticle, great customer service, I could go on. I own the NXS 5.5-22x50 and couldn't be happier. It is currently habing the NPR-2 reticle upgraded to their new NPR-1. If you can spare the cash I highly recommend them.

The only beef I've got is that when you adjust the magnification it turns the entire ass end of the scope so if you have flip caps the cap will spin and can get in the way of the bolt. If you put the scope cap on just right you can usually set it up so it will not get i the way of your most used settings.

That being said the Leupold Mark 4's, IOR's, US Optics, and Schmidt and Benders are also a great piece of gear. Take your choice I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

Thanks all!

I guess I will be visiting the guys at the shooting edge and getting my night force scope. Now in addition I am searching the market to see if I can acquire another rifle. The MCR-400 by "COBB MANUFACTURING INC" in 338 Lapua, hopefully it won't be a futile search and the wallet won't vapourize.

I have two, both NSXs in 5.5-22x56. One has a mildot and the other an MLR reticle. They have great clarity and crisp contrast, excellent audible click adjustments on the turrets, repeatability on the rectangle test was 100% perfect and I don't know about servive because I haven't had any problems.

Only down side to this scope is the weight, it is quite a heafty scope so if you are trying to keep weight down this probably is not the scope for you.

Would I recommend one? Yes but you may want to look at the Leupold Mark4 as they are a great scope too! Very similar to the NF just lighter and turret adjustments are not quite as crisp.

My 8-32x56 BR just showed up today. I am ever excited! :D A quick look through it shows amazing optics! No distortion at the edges & extremely bright detailed picture. I can't wait to get it to the range and plink off some shots!!!

All my worrying about the price disappeared the second I looked through it.

We have yet to have one unhappy customer and we have zero returns on Nightforce Scopes! Great product and worth every penny

Great feed back

Thanks to all for the feed back, very helpful. I just placed my order for the 3.5 - 15 x 50 with the NP-R2 reticle. Now its shipping time in my way.
Good shooting!
