I have a modest collection of handguns, spanning 1903 to current items. They all get used. It saddens me to think of my Grandfather's Colt Woodsman or 1911 being taken from me if things continue toward bans and "buy back".

My question is- how many of us are continuing purchase handguns? I see items on my lgs websites moving still, but I hesitate to invest any more of my money into restricted (ie traceable) firearms.

Where are you all at on this? Do we really expect a fair dollar from Bill Blair on a 1st gen Colt SAA? I think not.

So far, JT's handgun ban is attempting to con our socialist leaning city councils to ban them. Feel free to move to Alberta* where our provincial government has now banned municipalities from banning handguns. (*as long as you vote conservative)

I buy as many, and as often, as I can afford. In fact, I've bought more after the announced ban, than I ever did before.

Auction prices seem to have not suffered one bit ... let’s not forget, long before the recent issues and or bans, there have always been people unwilling to risk buying a registered firearm. In general, I think the appetite hasn’t slowed though.

That may not really make that much difference as there is nothing to stop Trudeau from declaring a nation wide handgun ban , which is probably the direction that the Liberals will end up taking . These Municipal handgun bans are bound to fail , and Trudeau will use that as a reason to implement a national hand gun ban .

I haven't rented traceable firearms from the government in a few years, as I saw which way the wind was blowing. BUT I support your right to buy as many as you're comfortable with. I'd definitely buy handguns if they were treated same as any other tool as I enjoyed shooting them.

On the thread topic question

I buy what I want when I want.

As far a bans; buy backs yada, yada, yada will cross that bridge when/if it happens.

NAA.

For reasons unexplainable to me, my gun interests have gone from handguns to lever action rifles.

I hope the feds didn't slip something into that Covid shot!

I buy what I want, when I want. What goes with this, is donating to the major court challenges at the federal level, and the S74 hearings. you could say I am protecting my investment, but in reality, I hate the concept of the Federal government stealing my property, and my gun rights.

Thanks for the considered replies. Appreciate it. I guess the difference between losing 35 handguns vs 30 is really not worth worrying about. My exposure to the political winds is high at this point. I will likely buy something this year and support the legal fight as well. Right now I'm paying for a new furnace and water heater so its a moot point for the immediate future anyway.

If those Bersa Thunder 380s arrive I might snap.

Some people have been running scared since C68 came in , now they are crying because they can't buy PPk's because they where going to lose them. Up to you .
