contracters and guns

Modified FN FAL :

I use Bostitch, Ridgid and Paslode, and have used Hitachi in the past.

Oh, you don't mean that kind of contractor, do you...

The normal barrel FAL is way to long to use in a vehicle -- I have one of them -- it sits folded in the vehicle side box. The other belongs to a guy who never really leaves the villa.
The longest realistic barrel you can use for this is a 16"
Anything longer and your not able to move it properly, and are a hinderance more than an asset.

Also a lot of people dont understand terminal ballisitics -- velocity is not always the answer, bullet construction and selection of the proper load for your requirements is much more important.

While in 5.56mm OTM and M193 and M855 ammo velocity beyond certain benchmarks will result in fragmentation in human tissue - 7.62mm ball does not (except a short few years production of West German ammo).
So a short FN is not loosing the same way that a short AR does.
M118LR (175gr SMK) performs somewhat like a 5.56mm OTM but with a long neck.
The 155gr Hornady AMAX (and TSWG round) is probably the best choice in a non Hague convention compatible round for terminal effect in humans in that calibre.
The only way I would ever use an Ak was due to battlefield pickup.

Sucks, i think it would be an interesting experience with a nice hard swift kick to the butt to anyone who needs a reality check
