Hello,
I am sure that this has been covered before but I am having zero luck with finding any info using the search function and my Google-fu seems to be seriously lacking on this one.
I live in WMU 70 (Prince Edward County), Ontario and am trying to figure out how to apply for the controlled deer hunt. I called the ministry number 1-800-288-1155 but the only option it gave me was Antlerless Deer Draw (which I applied for anyways) with no mention of the fact that WMU 70 is a controlled deer hunt zone. Did I apply correctly to enter myself into the controlled hunt?
Also, my father owns 50+ acres in this WMU and I was under the impression (he is not a hunter) that I can get a guaranteed tag through his land ownership. Again, I am having no luck figuring out how to apply for this either.
If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be a huge help.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the quick follow up guys. Points me in the right direction. I've done a fair bit of small game hunting but this will be my first deer hunt and wanted to make sure I didn't miss out.
Cheers!

If you are applying for a controlled deer hunt
validation tag as a farmer/landowner, you must apply with
a paper application(visit ontario.ca/outdoorscard for a list of
participating locations).

Farmers and landowners may submit one (1) application for
a controlled deer hunt validation tag if:
• They own a parcel of 20 hectares (50 acres) or more
of land in a Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) that is
offering a controlled hunt OR
• Their occupation is farming and they have an Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Ministry of Rural
Affairs Farm Business Registration Number (or letter of
exemption from the Farm Organization Accreditation
Tribunal) in a WMU that is offering a controlled hunt OR
• They are the owner or the sole designated representative
(president, vice-president, treasurer or secretary) of a
company which owns a parcel of land of 20 hectares
(50 acres) or more in the WMU that is offering a
controlled deer hunt.
Farmers and landowners meeting one of these criteria will
be issued a validation tag if:
• They hold a valid hunting version Ontario Outdoors Card AND
• They hand-deliver an application to a participating
ServiceOntario centre before 5:00 p.m. on
October 3, 2013.
REMINDER: Ministry of Natural Resources District Offices
no longer accept and process Farmer and Landowner
Controlled Deer Hunt Applications. Do not fax, mail or
drop off at a ministry office. These applications must be
hand-delivered to a participating ServiceOntario centre.

An immediate relative of the farmer or landowner meeting
the above criteria also qualifies to receive a controlled deer
hunt validation tag. An application signed by the landowner
must be submitted to the participating ServiceOntario centre.
An immediate relative is a person’s grandparent, parent,
spouse, child, sibling or grandchild.
