Convert Marlin 70 to 795?

I realize that the logical step would be to sell the 70 and buy the 795. However I have this model 70 that was my first gun that I bought with my second ever paycheck in the 80's. The rifle is simply a piece I don't want to give up. Recently my best friend bought a 795. After some looking it seems possible to change parts to get the 70 the 795's last shot bolt hold open. My questions are do you guys think this is possible and what parts would I have to buy? I already replaced my cracked trigger guard with a 795 one without issues.

A Marlin 795 costs $150.

Why bother?

This is a no brainer!

Keep the memories intact, and just buy the 795.
