Is it possible to convert a 9mm NP22 to .40 S&W. Is it just a barrel and magazine change or more than that? Will genuine Sig parts should fit?

Thanks

I doubt very much that it will stand up to extra recoil, if you decide to do this, I recommand a putting in a buffer.

A Sig 226 CPO will be about the same cost by time you are finished with the extra costs. then you would have a gun designed to shoot .40cal, although I realize it would not be a 228 which are getting rare.

I would NOT recommend you do that. The NP22s suffer frame breaks from recoil fatigue, the more powerful the ammo the faster the breaks happen. I was able to get about 10K rounds, using very weak 115gr ammo; people using hotter 9mm sometimes get no more than 2K. Using .40?? I'd be very surprised if you got any real usage out of it. Don't do it.

I am also very fond of the NP22 and consider it one of the real Norinco "keepers" in the bunch, but I also would echo as a .40SW Sig owner that this is likely NOT a good idea.

Besides not being a good idea, it is simply not worth it.

Buy yourself a real Sig CPO. They are excellent, and although it would cost you a bit more than the conversion, the quality is far superior and you would have a Sig designed to soot .40.
