Convert PP to restricted

Does anyone know a gunsmith in Canada that can replace the barrel (it is pinned to frame) of a Walther PP to .5 inch longer to make it a restricted instead of prohib?

Not sure if 380 conversion requires modifications to bolt face/extractor/magazine on a PP - it doesn't on a FN 1910 but if it does and you are rebarrelling anyway, might as well go with 30reid - there already is a restricted FRN for a PP in this caliber. This way no modifications except the barrel are required.
 
To re chamber to .380 you need to do work on the bolt face and extractor. They can be touchy reliability wise. Some run like a champion, some never run right. A 30 reid conversion is the simplest and most reliable, but it’s a reload proposition only, although Epp’s has dies for it. If it’s already a.380 you just do the barrel. Be prepared to wait a few months till paperwork catches up to you. And you can’t take possession till then
 
I have one in .380 that was professionally converted from 32 ACP. I do not know who did it or when, but they did a v nice job. Even re-marked the data stamp to reflect the calibre change. It runs perfect but this is not an easy conversion. Other people have mentioned extractor, etc... not sure about that but the recoil spring will also be changed to handle the new pressure. If you go this conversion route, make sure you know exactly what spring they use if you need to change it in the future. I'm using MecGar 32 ACP magazines and they fit perfect for my 1965 PPK.
