Convert SKS to bolt action, to prevent being prohib

What do you guys think?

Can we lobby to keep our SKS if we convert them to bolt action?

Should be easy. We weld shut the gas port. Then over the gas piston to the RCMP at the same time they certify the gas port has been welded.

I don’t mind keeping a bolt action SKS for hunting.

Let's take the gas pistons out of our AR's and make them non-firearms too. Assuming one owns a firearm, which one doesn't.

If the SKS becomes a named prohibited firearm, turning it into a bolt action, or even a single shot isn't going to make any difference.

If they won't let up convert a full auto to semi and keep it, I doubt they would make provisions to allow conversion of an existing semi auto. Dewatt is about all you weld something into.

On second thoughts, this is a brilliant idea:

1. Register your SKS to be welded by the c0ps.
2. Get a letter a month later from said c0ps, bring it in for some reason, we want to look at it or else.
3. ...
4. Profit?

You do realize that going prohib. makes them a safe queen at best. When's the last time you've seen a restricted or prohib. rifle ant the range, or out in the field?
