Converting a .455 Colt New Service to .45 ACP

From all the talk about barrel dimensions in different cal. , some may find it interesting that some Webley # 5"s where made for
.455 Webley & .45 LC ( same gun ) . They are clearly marked on the lt. side , with both cal. . The hammer mount firing pin looks
very long , perhaps to reach the cap , when .455 are used ? You can see pics of this in the book ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
" Webley Solid Frame Revolvers" page 230.

Really? I would have thought the cylinder was too short. People advise against shooting .45 ACP, nevermind .45 Colt, out of Webleys. Maybe it was marked .455 Colt?

A Webley that could fire .45 Colt would be pretty cool. Do any of the Mk I to V models squeak into 106mm barrel territory or are they all 4"?

1. Reloading will be a cheaper and most beneficial way to deal with this revolver - good option.
2. Selling this revolver and buying brand new gun or two, will be another good option.
3. Converting this gun is the worst option: value goes down, everything can go wrong with the conversion job as well, pain in the a$$ with moon clips, loss of accuracy, etc.

If you have access to a shop with a surface grinder, it might be possible to thin a batch of acp circle clips to fit the gun without further mods. Depends on the existing clearances.

I've read a few WG Army models were converted to .45 Colt.
