Converting Chassis to Left Hand? How to plug bolt slot?

Hello,

I'm considering converting a right handed MDT chassis to left hand. They do not offer a left handed Savage inlet in what I'm after. It looks like all that needs to be done is to cut a slot in the side for the bolt, which I'm comfortable doing. The issue is the factory bolt slot on the right side that will be left unused and sort of ugly.

In pictures it looks like the Savage Stealth models have slots in both sides and they just put a plug in whichever side isn't used for that rifle - can anyone confirm that? Any ideas where I could get one of the plugs or what else I could do?

depending on how you plan to cut your slot on the left side of the stock, is there a chance of rotating it 180 degrees and filling the void on the right side? if not, then why not find some close to dimension at your local hardware store, and cut a plug to fit. drilling it and tapping it and installing a headless screw through into the receiver and paint to match your stock.
