Hi,

I have a Savage in .223... it has an internal 5rnd magazine and I was wondering if a kit existed to add an external box magazine... would make clearing my rifle at the range so much easier!!!

Badger has a kit for the Remington... is there one for Savage?

Do any kits exist that use AR-15 magazines? ie the 10 round AR pistol magazines?

If yes to either of these questions... who installs/makes them?

Thanks

There is always a way, but it sure will cost you

there was a thread about magazine conversion, but as far as I remember no one has a kit, so you need to cut it out yourself

but I'm sure you can somehow use the new drop-down mags from new Savage's and install it on yours

Savage is now making D mag 223 rifles. How they are doing it and with what parts, no idea. My guess is that it will use the new center feed action screw spacing.

You might want to contact Savage and ask if they will sell the bottom metal and mags. It would be a bit of work to get different action screw holes but is possible (better just use a new gen action).

It is supposed to be a staggered mag and I have zippo for info beyond that.
