Fast as you can pull the trigger man.

The 930 is an amazing rig. I'm very, very happy with mine. I don't regret it one bit. GREAT buy....

awesome picture! I think I need one now!

I am currently working on the same project, it is taking some time to get the 18.5 inch barrel. My only concern with this shotgun is that I have gone through 2 forearm retainers after only a couple of hundred rounds. Mossberg keeps replacing them, but it is kind of a hassle.

Yeah, what's the deal with the retainers ? I haven't experienced anything like this yet so more info would be appreciated.

Improper installation causes it to get damaged. It's just light plastic and can't take the energy from the pusher assy when the return spring is on the wrong side.
The return spring acts as a damper.
I've seen it a couple of times.

So it wouldn't be a flaw then . Any kind of gun can get damaged if you don't put it together as it was intended.

I've gone through three 930s and never had a problem with the retainer. I hammer them hard with heavy magnum loads and no issues. The forend has to be up against it. If its not in the right spot you'll notice the mag cap will not thread down tight.
I've been thinking an OD paint job is next for my latest.

Wholesale said they could order one in for me. Who knows how long it would take though. I think they said the price was 459 or 469.

Which Wholesale? When I called the Calgary store a few weeks back they had 2 @$459 each. Maybe they are gone by now.

They must have got some more in. When I ordered one last week they told me I snagged the last one. Should arrive early next week.

Already got the mag extension/Mesa sidesaddle/charging handle from S&J. Then it's off to Casey at TacOrd for GR sight installation and removeable choke threading. Likely get it park'd and Tefloned while it's there. Getting my 590A1 and Winchester '97 threaded for chokes as well. Hopefully I can get a package discount

So, here's my completed version in O.D. Nothing fancy with the sights, as i prefer a simple bead on a shotgun. All the "add ons" from badboy besson(S&J). I had doubts about the velcro shell carrier. Found that they are a better option then the regular plastic style. You can pocket the shell carrier or have them on your arm and just stick it on the receiver when you like. It wont come off till you pull the tab.

Improper installation causes it to get damaged. .

who would have thunk it?

so there is no problem with the retainer.. the problem is the user not putting the gun back together correctly

what i like about the 930 is when it comes to unloading it ..
if you still have rounds in the tube.. push up/press down the elevator as if you were going to load a road.. press the bolt release and out pops a shell from the tube..
havent come across that on any other semi auto
