Converting sig 226 .40 to 9mm?

Complete, slide assembly, barrel, mags to do it properly!

I belive storm lake barrels or one of the other aftermarket barrel manufactures may have something as well that might drop in!

Ive changed top ends .40>9mm and 9mm> .40 many times on my 226...works fine!

You can get after market barrels from Questar, I have the 9mm barrel for my .40cal 229, the .40cal mags work fine with 9mm and my 9mm 226 mags will hold 7 rds of .40cal and work fine.

Can anyone else comment if this is ok to do...is the slide assembly and frame that much different on a 40?

Well I just ran 60 rds of 9mm through it today, no issues, this setup does like the ammo to be a bit hot as you are working against a .40cal recoil spring. The fioochi ammo is good for it.

The barrel is different on a 229 than a 226, make sure the aftermarket barrel in 9mm is for a .40cal 226 and you are good to go. Talk to Questar they are good people.

Thanks for the info - I've been eyeing up a 229 SAS DAK but they only come in 40. I have heard tell on the Sig Forum that a Gen2 is already out that has a blackened slide, regular trigger, decocker and in 9mm but I don't see it on Questars web site.

Sig sells a drop in barrel in .357 for the P226 no other changes required. 357 is near as damn it to 9mm but Sig says 9mm barrel won't fit.
