Converting SKS to bullpup

Yes, don't do it. The bullpup stocks are prohibited devices, can't do it in Canada. You can buy a bullpup rifle if it is manufactured that way though (Tavor and FRB come to mind).

And learn to use the search, you will probably get flamed for asking this question for the "gazilionth" time. ;)

You can make a bullpup SKS legally, as long as it doesn't involve the stock.
Trigger on front of mag, coat hanger link wrapping around the mag to original trigger, for example.

I would like to convert my SKS to bullpup rifle. Any advice from experts?

Do this only if you want to see the inside of your local Crowbar Hotel.

According to our (idiotic) laws, adding a bullpup stock to ANY rifle (that isn't built that way) instantly turns it into an evil baby-killer that can't be found in Canadians' hands.
Think of the children!!!!!

It's in there.... looked it up a long while back, eventually found it. Will probably be in the firearms act under the provisions that determine prohibited status. Possibly will be in the part that deals with prohibited characteristics rather than prohibited by name.

Yup!

Bullpup SKS is non-restricted, but bullpup stock for it is prohibited. So, no stock, you will be OK.

PART 4

PROHIBITED DEVICES

Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 9

1. Any electrical or mechanical device that is designed or adapted to operate the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm for the purpose of causing the firearm to discharge cartridges in rapid succession.
2. Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position.

And I'd like to convert my AR-15 to fully automatic, but it's not going to happen because it's illegal.

Now if you're asking about developing a new firearm in a bullpup configuration based off an SKS action, I'm all ears... but this would entail the designing and manufacture of a new receiver and trigger group.

Once a week with these threads. Lol
Yeah whole new receiver would not be worth it. I just don't get why so many people want to bullpup their sks. You bought a cheap milsurp....just shoooooot it.

Dont take it so hard. I just meant that they are a cheap(pricewise) rifle that preforms well enough in stock trim.

I was using it 30 years ago too, but mine was captured :).

You CAN do it legally !

I would like to convert my SKS to bullpup rifle. Any advice from experts?

Heres how -

Legally aquire a bullpup stock in the U.S.
Modify it in the U.S. so that it CANNOT function in an SKS.
Legally export it to Kanada.
Modify your SKS so that it CANNOT function on its own or in an SKS stock.
Modify your bullpup stock PERMANENTLY so that it can only function in your radically redesigned SKS.
Modify your SKS so that it can PERMANENTLY ONLY function in your PERMANANTLY MODIFIED bullpup stock.
Assemble.
Simple ! ;)

If you can do that for under $10,000 - your wish comes true at least -
until the donkey walloppers find out and they arbitrarily and illegally prohibit it and send you to jail. :p;)

To avoid jail you can submit it to the mounties for reclassification, and they will keep it for many years pending reclassification then prohibit it.
