With the current rifles using removable floor plates, would it be possible to convert a Model 70 to a detachable magazine?

Give me a shout. I have CDI options that might serve your needs.

OMG you mean to say there exists some CDI bottom metal for the SA Model 70 rifles?

I have been a Model 70 lover for years but had to compete with thee tweaked Rem 700 platforms for years because if the lack of aftermarket toys

I am gonna keep watching for this elusive Model 70 bottom metal. :)

Cheers

I should have mentioned this earlier. The calibre will be either .338 WinMag or .375 H&H Mag. I know there's bottom metal and ten round magazines that will fit .338 WinMag, but will anything fit .375 H&H Mag?

Okay Jerry:

I will be needing this bottom metal (have many AICS .308 magazines already) for the PUSH FEED Winnie StealthI Model 70. Just gotta ensure that the holes all line up with the push feed actions (or Pre FNH mfg...I hope I got this information right).

Other Winnie lovers might be watching and learning from this conversation. I'm just waiting for the possession/arrival of my 'new to me' StealthI this weekend and you & me are gonna make this DBM system work for my Winnie Model 70 addiction. :D

What? Stocks you say? Stocks for the Winnie Model 70 push feed? I'm really tweaked now. Enlighten me!

Cheers,
Barney

I don't play with any Wins so you will need to give me the action bolt spacing to confirm. or you can check the CDI site as I am pretty sure, there is only 1 Win 70 SA listed.

Choate stocks... should have the varmint and sniper version instock. These are both blind mags so inletting is required. The Varmint is the better choice. I might even have a folder... gotta check inventory if interested.

If there is another choate stock you want, let me know.

Okay with the CDI, their website says that they make the bottom metal for the Winnie M70 Short Action Post 64, which happens to be my 'push feed' model. I'm in.

PM coming right away!

Thanks for doing this!

Cheers

The cdi requires some metal to be milled out of the front of the receiver magazine well and sometimes the bolt stop.

Not a huge deal, but you should be aware that's it's not a drop in.

I had this built last winter, using the CDI bottom metal. Love it. This one is a CRF originally a 270WSM, (now 325) and it needed a little notch taken out of the action so that the mag would seat high enough to allow a round to be stripped off. Very minor. Mine works great, however, I only have the one ALPHA WSM mag, and I haven't tried it with anything else. Don't want to open up the feed lips on my other AI mags, as I still use them for 308.
